Theresa Wood is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with more than 20 years of experience helping patients regain strength, mobility, and confidence in both hospital and outpatient settings. She brings a calm, encouraging presence to every session, focusing on individualized care that supports each patient’s unique goals.
Theresa has an extensive background treating a wide range of conditions, including orthopedic, neurological, and complex multi-trauma diagnoses. Her clinical experience spans concussion and vestibular care, traumatic brain injury, stroke recovery, peripheral neuropathy, balance deficits, Parkinson’s disease, and postoperative orthopedic rehabilitation. She is also skilled in working with long-term and subacute patients, as well as individuals recovering from cancer, cardiac events, and general deconditioning.
Before joining Compass Rehabilitation, Theresa spent nearly a decade in an outpatient Neuro/TBI clinic working within a true interdisciplinary care team that included PT, OT, speech therapy, neuropsychology, and counseling. She also served for eight years as a clinical instructor for PTA students, mentoring the next generation of clinicians. In outpatient orthopedic settings, she has worked with patients experiencing cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and lower-extremity pain, and she incorporates specialized techniques such as myofascial release and Graston into her therapeutic approach.
Theresa is dedicated to meeting patients where they are, empowering them through education, and building strong working relationships that foster trust and long-term progress. She is excited to bring her experience, compassion, and commitment to exceptional care to the Compass Rehabilitation team.
