Aquatic Therapy

In addition to 10,000 square feet of physical therapy space on land, Compass Rehabilitation Center also offers a large in-ground 16′ x 32′ warm water pool for individualized treatment programs. With an average temperature of 88 degrees, the Compass Rehabilitation Center pool allows patients an opportunity to safely rehab in a reduced weight-bearing environment. Research indicates the benefits of aquatic exercise are numerous: reduced pain with standing and walking exercises, muscle relaxation, reduced edema, improved cardiovascular output and improved balance to name a few. You don’t have to know how to swim to use our pool. Most exercises are done at chest height in water with feet on the floor and there are rails along the side for patients who want the extra support along with shallow steps with double rails to enter.

All rehabilitation and exercises in the pool are conducted by licensed therapy staff.
