Occupational Therapy

At The Compass Rehabilitation Center, we treat much more than just the spine. As part of our holistic approach to patient care, we are pleased to offer Occupational Therapy Services with a physician’s referral.

Occupational therapists work with injured, disabled or elderly patients who have temporary or permanent impairment in their physical or mental functioning. The goal is to help restore patients to independence in their living and working environments.  We have helped several workers in the Lansing area with physical ailments developed from their line of work.

Occupational Therapy is used to help patients perform all kinds of activities, from using a computer to daily tasks such as eating, dressing and personal care. Physical exercises may be used to increase strength and dexterity, while other activities may help to improve visual acuity, reasoning ability and perceptual skills.

Occupational therapy services may include comprehensive evaluations, recommendations for adaptive equipment and training in its use, and guidance and education for family members and caregivers.
